Finale!

So after many weeks of hard work and lots of hand coding, my web final project is complete and ready for submission. All seven pages fully functional and linked. I must say that i enjoyed this challenge and look forward to the advanced Web Design class in 2nd year. Hopefully i get that A that ive been working towards.

So after today's class, im left with one page to build for my site and lots and lots of tweeking to make it as close to perfect as possible... wish me luck... :p

Progress...

So.. during this class i was able to create and link an additional 2 pages to my site... one of which included an embedded calendar. I realize that once u have a google account (like gmail), google give u an embed HTML tag to drop into your page and this allows public access to your calendar. Major coolness!... 3 pages to go... wish me luck.

embedding flash, music and forms

So today as the journey continues towards completing my website for the end of the semester, i decided to go off track a little and give myself a further edge by incorporating some flash elements, music and data forms on my site. I created an intro animation using Flash CS4 and embedded music in MP3 format. I also created a registration page with a data form. I also got around to linking some of my pages. Im so excited and cant wait to finish. This may be my best wrk yet. Still alot to do. Laterz

Website update

Work on the web final project continues. I got the basic layout covered. Just to add the fancy stuff and the content, do the other pages and link them. I want to do some flash elements for the enter page and photo gallery also. We'll see how it goes.

creating navigation lists

As the web design course continues, we are learning more and more elements which will essentially lead to us creating our own websites for out final project. Today we learned about fonts and typography how to create and style lists. The recommended websites that we were referred to were extremely helpful- especially the one that gave a step by step breakdown (using the CSS codes) of how to build a decent looking page from scrap.

Creating column layouts

This week we actually started on the ground works for our final project. We did a refresher exercise in the the different ways of adding styles to a page using CSS and we also learned how to create columns. We were asked to created a wire frame of what we want out final webpage to look like and based on that, the grid structure was determined. Introduction to Firebug

This week the lecturer introduced the class to a fun and easy tool that will definitely aid in doing ur web designs using Mozilla Firefox. After installing firebug we were able to temporarily edit our page so we see what works so that it willbe easier to code the CSS file in text editor. Major coolness. Lookignforward to the in class assignment next week to edit the Google page.

CSS class 1

The first class of MDIA 1001 was quite enlightening. Having done web design / programing many years ago, the material was familiar but of course with all the constant advancements in technology some things were unfamiliar.

We did our first bit of coding to edit an webpage. I'll post screen shots of the solution and what i have done.
